Most personal finance advice online is written for an American or British household: it assumes a 401(k), a mortgage you can refinance, and a grocery bill that is a rounding error. None of that applies here. Rent and utilities can take more than half a modest salary, much of daily spending is still cash, a large share of the household budget may go to supporting parents, and the money you are saving competes with committees, Eid spending and school fees.

These articles are written against that reality. They use PKR throughout, they account for the joint family, and they say plainly when the standard advice does not fit. If a rule of thumb turns out to be wrong for your situation, the article will say so rather than pretend otherwise.

For anything longer and more structured, the guides section covers tax, retirement, property and halal investing in depth. We also publish how we research and update these articles.
